About Us

Treasures Island Pre School was establish in 2006. It is situated at Arcadia Court, Athlone, County Westmeath. 
This pre-school operates a play based curriculum, and can accommodate up to twenty two children at any one time. The age criteria for children to qualify for this scheme is two years and eight months to five years and six months (see ECCE page).
Treasures Island Preschool also operates the Community Childcare Subvention Plus (CCSP) Scheme. Please contact the manager for further details on this scheme.
The adult child ratio is 1:11 in compliance with Childcare Pre-school Regulations. The service is a private owned business and is a member of Early Childhood Ireland organisation and registered with TUSLA, Child and Family Agency.
The manager/owner Bernie Egan has been working in the childcare field for many years and is a mother of four. Bernie is fully qualified in childcare with a BA degree in Early Childhood Studies and Practice from the National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG). Bernie is the Inclusion Co-ordinator for the service.
Treasures Island Pre-school is part of the Early Childhood Care and Education Scheme (ECCE) and offers free pre-school to families for children who qualify for this scheme.
